This week Dan talks about using a PS_APP_PATCH_HOME environment variable, Kyle discusses PeopleSoft features that require Windows servers and then we give an introduction to Elasticsearch.
We want to make this podcast part of the community discussion on PeopleSoft administration. If you have comments, feedback, or topics you’d like us to talk about, we want to hear from you! You can email us at email@example.com or tweet us at @psa_io.

RE nVision on Unix at 26:00. This is done using the new PSNVSSRV server process in Process Scheduler. More significantly, Excel 2010 upwards (which is the lowest certified version in PT8.54) is effectively single threaded. If you want to run 10 concurrent nVisions, Oracle suggest that you should run 1 on each of 10 Windows servers via 10 process schedulers! PSNVSRV is not limited in this way. However, it has some functional limitations, so you might need a blended approach.
